Test Automation Engineer I

QA team members at PDI drive customer confidence by assuring the quality of our current and future software products. The Test Automation Engineer will design, build, test and deploy effective test automation solutions by applying the appropriate automation tools and technologies to meet the testing goals.  The engineer should be a proactive, self-starter who thrives on developing and sharing knowledge and can work with cross-functional teams from engineering, product management and DevOps to provide a wide range of test automation solutions for a variety of products and platforms.

This position will report to the Development Manager.

Responsibilities include

  • Define test requirements and objectives with understanding of various test scenarios and configurations to ensure high quality regression testing
  • Ability to build and script repeatable end-to-end system tests with the goal of automation
  • Support regression testing in a cloud-based continuous delivery environment
  • Investigate, troubleshoot and document test failures for communication to the appropriate development team
  • Documentation of test cases and test steps
  • Collaboration with engineering teams, product management and DevOps to ensure proper test coverage
  • Work with PMO team to track and report quality metrics

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3 - 7 years working with test automation or related development role
  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle and use of tools that support SDLC such as Jira, VSTS/TFS
  • Experience with test automation tools for example Selenium, Tricentis, Ranorex
  • Familiarity with development tools such as SQL Server, C#, Java, JSON, XML
  • Requires strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon into layman’s terms
  • Collaborative in nature with a strong desire to dig in and learn independently and as well as through asking questions
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize issues in a fast-paced work environment with competing deadlines

Educational Qualifications/ Pre-Requisites

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
