Senior Accountant


PDI is a fast-paced, high-growth environment open to innovation and improving processes. The Senior Accountant position is responsible for creating and reviewing complex account reconciliations and journal entries, researching and resolving issues, and involvement in the monthly reporting and closing process. This role works cross-functionally with other departments and must be able to suggest and implement new procedures to perform more effectively and efficiently. This role requires attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively in a high-growth environment, and will report to the Corporate Controller.

Job Functions

  • Prepare, examine and analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Maintain chart of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts
  • Develop, implement, modify and document record keeping and accounting systems making use of current computer technology
  • Manage monthly revenue accounting close efforts, including deferred revenue and accounts receivable reconciliations
  • Work in tandem with all service and sales AR/AP personnel to keep accounts accurate.
  • Own key components of month-end close process and monthly, quarterly, semiannual, and annual financial reporting
  • Perform reconciliations for all accounts, banks and credit card statements
  • Recognize weaknesses in internal control and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage ADP and ongoing process for payroll
  • Maintain paid time off, vacation, and sick records
  • Perform technical accounting research where necessary to ensure proper compliance with GAAP
  • Maintains files and documentation thoroughly and accurately
  • Assists in preparing necessary materials for regular audits; works with auditors
  • Performs ad-hoc research, analysis and other projects as directed

Required Skills & Experience

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel and Word, with the ability to read and design complex spreadsheets
  • Experience with NetSuite a plus
  • Analytical skills and ability to manage large volumes of data and analysis simultaneously
  • Confidentiality and ability to handle sensitive information appropriately
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Software company experience preferred but not required
  • Proven problem solver with strict attention to detail and accuracy
  • Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent organizational and follow up skills with a proven ability to work effectively with people at all levels

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or Finance required
  • 3-5 years experience either in corporate and / or public accounting
  • CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred
