Corporate Controller


PDI is a fast-paced, high-growth environment and the Accounting & Finance function is seeking a Controller, ideally with experience in an acquisitive, multi-national organization and strong technical accounting knowledge to keep pace with our growth. This position is responsible for developing and coordinating the operational functions of the department, collecting and analyzing data, interpreting key variances, and identifying and resolving escalated issues. This role works cross-functionally with other departments and must be able to propose and implement new procedures to perform more effectively and efficiently. This role requires attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

This role reports to the CFO.

Job Functions

  • Develop and coordinate the operational functions of the accounting department, overseeing the accounting, financial reporting, analysis and preparation of the consolidated financial statements, including schedules for tax compliance
  • Ensure policies and procedures are in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements; Analyze new and proposed accounting standards
  • Collect and measure financial data to analyze financial performance and ensure accurate reporting
  • Supervise budget preparation and billings; Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure accuracy of data used in budgeting and forecasting
  • Present financial reporting including financial analyses explaining variance and potential risk areas to senior management
  • Generates and interprets financial records and statements
  • Maintains files and documentation thoroughly and accurately
  • Assists in preparing necessary materials for regular audits and participates in due diligence process for targeted acquisitions
  • Manage and coach 2-4 staff in all financial/ operational activities, including training, development, and performance management
  • Establish and maintain financial policies and controls to ensure data integrity; Provide recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Performs ad-hoc research, analysis and other projects as directed

Required Skills & Experience

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel and Word, with the ability to read and design complex spreadsheets
  • NetSuite experience preferred
  • Analytical skills and ability to manage large volumes of data and analysis simultaneously
  • 8+ years experience in a corporate accounting department
  • Confidentiality and ability to handle sensitive information appropriately
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with active listening skills and the ability to foster open dialog
  • Software company experience required
  • Proven problem solver with strict attention to detail and accuracy and demonstrated ability to understand and synthesize complex technical accounting matters
  • Excellent organizational and follow up skills with a proven ability to work effectively with people at all levels

Educational Requirements/ Pre-Requisites

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA required
