Junior Developer (SWAT)

Department

Our Development team is growing and we are happy to invest in training junior developers to add to our SWAT team in our Temple office. SWAT is a highly responsive team that functions with a high degree of autonomy, addressing critical software issues for both internal and external customers. This team works closely with the Support and Consulting departments to ensure client success and continuous business operations. A successful candidate will truly enjoy helping people, a talent for improving our software to create operational efficiency, and a strong desire to be a contributing member of the team.

Position

Responsibilities include:

  • Researches issues escalated from first level support, relying on data from clients, Salesforce, prior product versions, and other sources to identify bugs
  • Diagnose both internal and external customer PDI Software and network issues, communicating solutions
  • Create and code change requests for PDI Software issues (e.g., bugs, enhancements, resolutions), logging software change requests for inclusion in new release
  • Creates documentation in concert with User Ed Department, logging all steps to achieve resolution
  • Maintains queue, seeking feedback as appropriate from case owners on priority level and other variables
  • Other projects as assigned

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and test software applications
  • Development experience with one or more programming language and database concepts, preferably with exposure to SQL, C#, Javascript, XML, HTML
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize issues with an appropriate sense of urgency
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Educational Qualifications/ Pre-Requisites:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
  • Expertise in one or more programming languages, development tools, and/or databases and the systems development life cycle
